Home Health Aide
Professional Medical Careers Institute offers home health aide training for CNA's, this certification is preferred by many home health employers and Hospice Centers. The course provides required training for state certification and 28 Continuing Education Credits.
The Certified Home Health Aide class includes 20 hours each of theory and clinical. Students who complete a Nursing Assistant course and pass the state exam may continue into this course. This class can also be taken concurrently with PMCI’s Nursing Assistant program as an optional add-on. The course provides 28 Continuing Education Credits.
The objectives of this course are:
- Provide compassionate professional care to patients in a home-care setting.
- Safely perform basic, therapeutic nursing cares and preventative nursing measures when giving individualized care.
- Accept responsibility guided by ethical-moral and legal criteria when caring for patients.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities required of a Home Health Aide when working in a health care and home care setting.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and communication at all times.
