A Nurse Assistant who passes the State examination is called Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). They provide basic care to patients/residents and work under the supervision of a licensed nurse (LVN or RN). Common places of employment are Long Term Care Facilities, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities and Acute Care Hospitals.
Course: The Certified Nursing Assistant course has online lectures and live clinical at approved clinical sites in the State of California. The requirements necessary for students to successfully complete the training program will be a computer or laptop which has access to the internet. Software with the minimum operating system of Windows 7, or later. For Macintosh OS X version 10.5.6 or later. The computer should have a webcam, microphone, and speakers to hear online lectures properly. Students should have a basic understanding of use of computers.
The PMCI Online Nursing Assistant Training Program is an 8- week part time course. This course is designed for students who have expressed interest in the nursing or healthcare profession. This course meets Title 22 regulations in taking care of the geriatric population in the long-term care setting. Theory and skills practice, including clinical experience at a skilled nursing facility, are conducted under nursing supervision. The course content focuses on critical thinking, decision-making, and team concepts while incorporating elements of care and communication and interpersonal skills. Upon successful completion of the course, students qualify to apply for and take the California Competency Exam.
The theory portion will be the first three weeks of the course. It is a synchronous class with live lectures accessed by ZOOM. It’s followed by about 5 weeks of clinical practice completed at approved clinical sites. The course is about 8 weeks long.
Must pass all exams and homework with 75% for the theory and a pass/fail for clinical based on demonstration of competency, attendance, work ethic, attitude and preparation
$2950 Includes: (CPR, Live Scan, Uniforms, hard costs, clinical and theory supervision, training supplies and online resources and books and a skills review session prior to state testing and prior to clinical training).
Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 8 – 2 pm for theory and 6:30 am until 2:30 pm for clinical.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 4-9 pm for theory and 2-8 pm for clinical on Tuesday and Thursday and 6:30 – 2:30 pm on Saturdays.
Clinical sites are currently in Southern California: Los Angeles Ventura, Los Angeles and Northern California: Sonoma County.

1. Must Complete 60 hours of Theory Instruction and 100 hours of Clinical Training (PMCI has 75 hours of theory and about 104 hours of clinical)
2. Criminal Clearance-Live Scan required 3. Physical Examination, proof of immunity to communicable disease and tuberculosis clearance prior to training. 4. Full COVID vaccination record 5. Negative Covid Test result before clinical training 6. CPR certificate prior to clinical training
